While out on a walk with a girlfriend, Linda discovered that the empty lot she'd always wanted was for sale!

After searching through hundreds of house plans and visiting countless model homes, a plan was found that fit all of our needs. Linda's den is on the 1st floor and will double as a guest room. John's den will be in the sitting room off the master bedroom, so he can work without being disturbed by the kids. The girls will have a bath to share in between their bedrooms, and Nick will get his own bathroom. John and Linda will get a 3-car garage, which we really need, since John has a car and a jeep.

The digging began on April 10, 2003.

The kids are excited to play in the dirt! Click on the movie picture to download a short movie clip of Nick and Sophie.
The kids thought the dirt piles were fun, but the great big hole was even more fun! Allie and Sophia are playing on our "front porch".

We added the bay window to the living room. It should let in a lot more light, plus it seems to balance out the house.

The kitchen cabinets are in! I've already opened every door and drawer, trying to figure out what is going to go where.

More cabinets. When I get my real pix back I'll scan those and replace these pictures. These are from my digital camcorder.
They are working on the trim/molding. Also the wood floor is installed in the foyer, hall area around the stairs and the kitchen.

Can you believe they drywalled right over the linen closet? After the drywall, trim/molding and paint, we realized it was missing.

A view of the dining room chandelier and the foyer.
I'm not sure I like how they attached the wooden panel to my dishwasher. I think it looks strange, what do you think??
The sidewalk is in. (9-9-03)
The driveway has been poured and landscaping has begun (weeping cherry).
